Links are one of the three major ranking factors in Google. So if you want your website’s pages to rank high in search, you will almost certainly need links. Google (and other search engines) look at links from other sites as “votes.” These votes help them identify which page on a given topic (out of thousands of similar ones) deserves to be ranking at the very top of the search results.
The number of pages with backlinks has a strong positive correlation with how much search traffic they get. Our own study of one billion pages found a strong positive correlation between the number of websites linking to a page and the amount of search traffic it gets.
The way that links are counted in Google is not a particularly unique way of counting links, but it does mean that links tend to come close to the top in search results. In general, pages with more backlinks tend to rank higher in search results. We do this for a variety of reasons, but it’s in part because a site is more likely to get links it is well-connected. A well-connected site is easier for Google to index, and the less backlinks it has, the more Google will value the page.
When you have more backlinks, it will take longer for your page to appear in search results. This isn’t a bad thing for the Google algorithm though because it means that these pages will be getting more attention, which you don’t want. One way to increase the backlinks is to have a link to your site from another website. That’s why I link to our website from here and you can get links to our home page from here.
The problem with creating an additional link to your site is that it might no longer be good link building, but it will get you more attention from Google, which you probably want. So it may not be a bad thing to go ahead and do it, but you should think about it and make sure you dont end up in the wrong place.
It goes back to the first rule of link building, which is that only content posted to your website will be linked to. You can also add more links to the site from the other sites. The easiest way to increase the backlinks is to make the links from my site more interesting and relevant, but not to the other sites. This is the first rule, and it’s pretty easy to get away with it.
